Die Wetterfahne

Text: Wilhelm Müller
Translation by ©2016 Tomoko Yamamoto

The wind plays with the weathervane on the house of my beautiful sweetheart.
As I thought already in my illusion,
it was whilstling to boo the poor refugee
He should have noticed before the sign on this house.
He should not have sought for an image of faithful woman in that house.

The wind plays inside with the heart as on the roof, only not so loud.
What do they care about my hurts?
Their child is a rich bride.
The wind plays inside with the heart, as on the roof, only not so loud.
What do they care about my hurt?
What do they care about my hurt?
Their child is a rich bride.
