Description: A silhouetted gondolier rows his gondola past the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, Italy toward brightly-lit houses beyond a foot bridge over the Rio del Palazzo. The Bridge of Sighs connects the prison on the right and the Doges' Palace. The prisoner were known to give a sigh when he was led to cross the bridge probably for execution.
